Man attacked with hammer by youths receives max CICA reward

Gary sustained a severe head injury as a result of an assault where he was attacked with a hammer by a number of youths. He was taken by ambulance to hospital.

A CT scan was performed which showed no fractures and there were normal appearances on the brain scan. Gary was intubated and ventilated and was in intensive care for five weeks.

Since the assault, Gary has significant ongoing problems with cognitive functioning with angry outbursts. He is unable to live independently and had to return to live with his parents causing huge stress for the whole family.

A CICA Application was made on Gary’s behalf by a previous firm of solicitors but Potter Rees Dolan took over as insufficient progress was made.

We successfully gained the maximum CICA reward of £500,000.00 as well as an early interim award to meet his immediate needs.
