Hayley Yates
Hayley is a Grade C Fee Earner within our expert Court of Protection team.
Education & career
Hayley studied Law at Leeds Beckett university and graduated in 2015. She then went on to start the Legal Practice Course in 2016, studying part time alongside working and graduated from this in 2018. Hayley joined Potter Rees Dolan in 2019 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in March 2023. Hayley is currently continuing to cross qualify as a Solicitor and will be completed the Professional Skills Course over the next couple of months.
Law is something I have always been interested in, although I never had a specific area I wanted to qualify into. When someone requires legal assistance, it is usually at quite a low point of their life, and to be able to help with their problem is rewarding.
Hayley assists Senior Fee Earners, as well as managing her own case load, to ensure that all of the team's work is completed by the right grade fee earner so the client is getting the most cost-effective service. This work perfectly for anyone wanting to progress as you will be delegated a number of jobs from senior team members. When asked what she enjoys most about her role and working at Potter Rees Dolan, Hayley said:
I love getting to know a client and their family and to watch clients grow and develop over the years. Our clients have all had their lives changed dramatically, and to be able to help make their lives slightly easier is a very rewarding job.
Outside of work...
Outside of work Hayley likes spending time outdoors enjoying long walks. She couldn’t not mention Roger and Doris, her dog and cat. She is always willing to bore everyone in the office with photos of them!
