Kelly Charlton
Kelly is a Senior Associate within our Clinical Negligence department, working closely with Helen Dolan, Lesley Herbertson, Gill Edwards and Helen Budge.
Education & career
Kelly graduated from Manchester University in 2011 with a degree in law and went on to qualify as a solicitor in 2014. Kelly was inspired to become a solicitor after undertaking work experience as a teenager, she says:
"I had work-experience in a law firm in Harrogate at the age of 16 which specialised in Clinical Negligence, and I have wanted to pursue it as a career ever since."
Kelly joined the Clinical Negligence team here at Potter Rees Dolan in 2019 and has experience handling a wide range of medical negligence claims including orthopaedic injury, surgical errors and brain injury.
Kelly says her favourite aspect of being a solicitor is the feeling of accomplishment she gets from using the law to improve someone’s life.
Outside of work...
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys yoga and playing badminton. She also loves travelling, having completed a 6 month trip around the world at the start of 2019 in which she visited a total of 15 countries across 4 continents. Kelly says she plans on returning to Japan as soon as possible, as it's one of her favourite destinations.
