Amber Mitchell
Amber is a Partner within our Personal Injury team, specialising in acting on behalf of clients who have sustained serious or catastrophic personal injuries, usually involving brain injury.
Education & career
Amber studied law at the University of Leicester and went on to complete an LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University, qualifying as a solicitor in 2005. Amber says:
"I loved to watch legal dramas as a child, and as I grew older and found out more about the law, it felt like the career for me. I was particularly drawn to those areas of law where there is a lot of client contact and the opportunity to help people, such as personal injury law, employment law and family law. Ultimately I began working in personal injury law at the very start of my legal career and have not looked back since."
Amber joined Potter Rees Dolan in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2017. As well as ensuring her clients receive the practical and financial help they need to maximise their recovery and move forwards with their lives, Amber places great importance on supporting her clients and their family so that they understand and are comfortable with the legal process. She says:
"I find all of my cases interesting and it is great to work in an area where I can speak to clients and have that personal contact. Whilst many of my clients have sustained brain injury, the outcome of brain injury is such that the impact on each client is never the same and every client needs something different, tailored to them and it is great that I can help provide that by obtaining interim payments and then putting together a rehabilitation team."
Outside of work...
In her free time, Amber loves to bake, and often will bake and decorate cakes for children whose families are in financial hardship, after they are referred by foodbanks, social workers and other charity groups.
