Catherine Keeley
Cathy is a Fellow of CILEx, a Director of our Trust Corporation, and has worked in the Court of Protection department here at Potter Rees Dolan for 17 years.
Education & career
With a degree in Criminology & Sociology, Cathy had originally planned to work in the Criminal Justice System but, after accepting a position in our Court of Protection department in 2003, she found supporting clients who have sustained serious injuries to be immensely rewarding. Cathy specialises in managing the financial affairs of clients who lack capacity and, whilst the majority of her clients have sustained a severe brain injury, she also enjoys working with clients who have learning disabilities.
Working alongside our litigators, Cathy manages client finances in order to facilitate their rehabilitation, setting up care and therapy packages and arranging for the purchase and adaptation of suitable accommodation. She works with clients and their families both throughout the litigation process and following settlement, arranging for investment of compensation and working with the client to budget longer term, to ensure their needs are met throughout their lifetime.
Outside of work...
Outside of work Cathy enjoys holidays to America and the Lake District, renovating her home and watching football.
