Cyclists in London are now able to alert the new mayor whenever they encounter dangers on the road.
A new mobile app has been launched for cyclists to log any unsafe locations by pressing a button on the handlebar of their bikes.
The button then sends a bluetooth signal to the phone app which automatically sends an email to the London Mayor.
Emails will mark the cyclists' location at the time of the incident or where they felt unsafe.
The 'Give a Beep' campaign stems from the mayor's pledge to make London safer and 500 buttons have been distributed to members of London Cycling Campaign (LCC).
Hugh Potter, Partner at PotterReesDolan, said:
Great! Will the future Manchester mayor allow me to beep at him/her as well?!
The campaign aims to make cyclists feel safer by allowing them to monitor and record the areas in which they feel in danger in the hope that the mayor will take note.
They hope by giving the mayor a beep will encourage him to stick to his pledge.
