Death rate at Tameside Hospital is 'higher than expected'

Here at PotterReesDolan we were surprised and dismayed to read that Tameside Hospital has once again been found to have higher than expected mortality rates.

Two years ago we were concerned to note that following on from the Mid Staffordshire review 3 hospitals in the North West, including Tameside, were being investigated in relation to high death rates.

Tameside Hospital, which was put into special measures following that investigation has commented that they are still in the process of improvement however that will be of little comfort to those who may have lost loved ones whilst they were receiving care at Tameside.

At PotterReesDolan our clinical negligence team understand the devastating impact the loss of a loved one can have on the lives on those around them, particularly if there is any suggestion that their death may have been avoidable.

We hope that the most recent report into the higher than expected mortality rate at Tameside hospital leads to further improvements as is being suggested by the hospital administration but remain committed to ensuring that those whose suffering was unavoidable have appropriate access to redress.
