Founding member of PRD wins 'Outstanding Contribution to Headway' award
We are thrilled to announce that our very own Rachel Rees, solicitor consultant within our Personal Injury department and a founding member of Potter Rees Dolan, was awarded 'The Stephen McAleese Outstanding Contribution to Headway Award' at the charity's annual awards on Friday 6th December.
"[Rachel's] commitment to help people with brain injuries has been unwavering"
Rachel has volunteered with the charity for over 25 years, after she was asked to help out a party at the South Manchester and Stockport branch in the early nineties, and so this award is a brilliant reflection of the hard work, time and effort that Rachel has given over the years to help brain injury survivors.
A truly deserving winner, well done from everyone here at Potter Rees Dolan, Rachel!
Here are a few words from colleagues....
Headway have recognised the enormous contribution which Rachel has made to its organisation; she is an unstinting champion of those with brain injury, offering guidance and the benefit of decades of experience – combining her natural empathy with a dogged determination to improve the lives of its members and their families.
Helen Dolan, Senior Partner & Head of Clinical Negligence
"I am delighted that Rachel won the 'Outstanding Contribution to Headway' award. She is a fantastic advocate for ABI (acquired brain injury) survivors and has worked tremendously hard to support them for many, many years. She works just as hard for those without any compensation claim and she rightly deserves the accolade! "
Hugh Potter, Senior Partner & Head of Personal Injury
"I am absolutely delighted for Rachel on winning this prestigious award. She has shown tireless commitment and dedication over many years in caring for brain injury survivors. To have this recognised by Headway is just wonderful and so thoroughly deserved "
Vicky Griffin, Practice Director
“Having worked with Rachel for over 20 years, I can honestly say that I was over the moon to learn that her dedication to the needs of HW Members over many years was recognised by such a lovely award. We both knew Stephen McAleese personally through his work with Headway & so the Award will have been extra special being in Stephen’s memory. The very moving sentiments expressed by all the HW members will have meant a great deal to Rachel"
