We thought it would be a great idea to get the new year off to a healthy start. Today we invited Nicola, a specialist in diet, nutrition and physical therapy from Charnock Farm to deliver a talk and offer practical tips and advice to help kick-start the year with a healthy outlook.
Nicola gave two talks; the first covered overall gut health. We heard about the problems you can have with your gut without realising, how to repair and maintain a healthy gut moving forward.
We were treated to some protein balls made of matcha and cacao and heard how we can improve our memory by eating certain foods.
The second talk from Nicola focussed on posture and how certain injuries can come from a bad posture. We heard how we can take control of our own injuries or general aches and pains and become pain-free.
She explained why certain treatments should be used over others for different back problems and she explained the importance of breathing by demonstrating some exercises and relaxation techniques.
We all definitely learnt a lot and are now all geared up for a healthy 2017!
