"It's a Family Affair: So Why Are We Only Helping One Person?"

We would like to thank everyone who attended our recent training seminar entitled ‘It’s a Family Affair: So Why Are We Only Helping One Person?'. The event was aimed at case managers and therapists discussing the importance of how the families of brain injured people need support too.

Mark Holloway from Head First kicked things off focusing on what the families of those with a brain injury need. Gavin Newby and David Kenny from Newby Psychology discussed the practical challenges and solutions of supporting families alongside their injured relatives. Gary spoke about the recoverability of expenditure for providing treatment to family members in brain injury cases and Ruth gave an insight into the impact brain injury has on the family in her work in Court of Protection. 

The seminar concluded with a networking lunch, which gave our delegates and speakers a chance to discuss potential solutions for the issues and conflicts mentioned in each talk. Overall, the day was a success and we have had plenty of positive feedback from those who attended. Once again, we’d like to thank you all for attending and we now look forward to our next event!
