The Superhero Series 'Superheroes on Vacation' challenge - raising money for LimbPower
Leo was born with a little left leg and had his foot amputated at the age of 1 to aid with the fitting of a prosthetic leg. He has since had hip reconstruction surgery last year and has had to rebuild his strength in his little leg whilst getting used to a new style of prosthesis - alongside getting an orthosis for his "big leg". However, he has never been one to shy away from a challenge and is taking on the Superhero Series 'Superheroes on Vacation' challenge!
Leo's goal is to travel at least 28km over a 4 week period by running, walking, cycling, wheeling, rolling, jumping... whatever form of movement he and his extremely supportive family can think of! All to raise money for LimbPower - a charity that engages amputees and individuals with limb impairments in physical activity, sport and the arts to improve quality of life and to aid lifelong rehabilitation. LimbPower has helped Leo's family reach out and connect with other families with children that are limb different / amputees. It's also helped Leo meet and see other people just like him - to be friends with as well as look up to.
