A very interesting day at the Rehabilitation of Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness conference last week which was co-hosted by the Huntercome Group and Case Management Services.
There were plenty of discussions generated on a range of topics presented including the talk from Hugh Potter, Partner at PotterReesDolan, who spoke about the legal pathways for clients with prolonged disorders of consciousness. (pictured)
About the event, Hugh said:
This was an excellent conference devoted to the difficult and highly specialised issue of patients with Prolonged disorders of consciousness.
The legal issues raised in relation to care and therapy pathways are complex and include the evidential battle which often takes place to support such patients being cared for in their own homes rather than in residential care.
Treating therapists and rehabilitation consultants are often unwittingly caught up in this battle and so need to be prepared.
The feedback from delegates has been very positive with considerable praise for the quality and range of presentations as well as the networking opportunities.
Vicky Griffin and Emma Arnold were also at the event exhibiting our legal services and speaking with delegates throughout the day.
