Quick diagnosis of sepsis by hospital saves baby girl's life

A baby girl who was rushed to hospital by her worried dad was diagnosed with deadly infection.

Stu Bonsall noticed his four-week old daughter was crying differently and so drove to the nearest hospital where she was diagnosed with sepsis.

Medical staff thankfully spotted the signs of sepsis quickly, as highlighted in recent campaign, which saved baby Megan's life.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the baby was placed in a three day medically-induced coma, being taken into neo-natal intensive care and being put on a drip.

New guidelines mean patients with sepsis should be treated in the same way as a heart attack as the spread of infection can result in death.
