I have read the alarming news about how there has been a sharp rise in the number of deaths and injuries in cyclists on the road.
The number of cyclists killed on the roads rose from 107 in 2011 to 118 last year, with serious injuries rising to 3,222. Worryingly, these figures confirm my own impression that more and more cyclists are being seriously injured or killed on our streets.
I am advising more cyclists than ever and sadly many need a lot of support following severe head injuries. Some have compensation claims often because drivers aren’t considerate.
Others don’t have claims but we have been able to help in other ways, for example through private insurance policies.
Please visit our sister website, Bicycle Assist, on road safety for cyclists which explains how we advise cyclists who have been injured on the road.
