We're proud to support a charity walk which is to take place this Sunday 25th September for a young lady named Molly.
After experiencing worsening headaches and dizziness back in May, Molly was eventually diagnosed with a cancerous tumour on her brain.
The tumour was successfully removed but Molly was suffering from a rare type of cancer called an Ependymoma which only 50 teenagers in the UK are diagnosed with each year.
Molly travelled to the USA where she had proton beam therapy which is a less intensive radiotherapy treatment to destroy any cancerous cells left after the brain surgery.
Despite being so poorly, Molly managed to ace her GCSEs with amazing grades and is coming home after responding really well to her treatment.
The walk this weekend is to raise funds for two charities which have meant a lot to Molly and her family; Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Brain Tumour Charity.
Vicky Griffin from PotterReesDolan will join the team of walkers who will begin the 10 mile stretch at the North Star Pub, High Crompton and will head out to Hollingworth Lake and returns to the North Star Pub where the charity raffle will be held.
Those who have opted for the shorter walk of five miles will begin at Hollingworth Lake and return to the North Star Pub.
