The NHS has launched a new website for people who have suffered a brain injury or a stroke.
With listings of various apps which patients might find useful, the aim of the website is to help people with their recovery and rehabilitation.
Developers believe that such apps can be a useful treatment tool to aid recovery after such injury and should be easily and freely available for all patients.
Jeanne Evans, personal injury solicitor at PotterReesDolan, said:
It's good to see this offering from the NHS providing those with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) with a comprehensive starting point to access on line information which can support the rehabilitation process and understanding of brain injury – sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to find the information you need.
So many of us now use technology - be it a tablet or mobile phone - so it’s a great source of information.
The apps featured on the website's network were all tried and tested in order to make sure the right apps are available.
As the website isn't affiliated to any app developers, all the apps were added to the web database on an impartial basis through a unique critiquing system.
With categories such as communication, mood, arms and fingers, patients can choose which app will be of use to them as an individual to help their own personal recovery.
