What a fantastic day we had yesterday in Manchester celebrating the golden achievements of Team GB and Paralympics GB.
It was a wonderful event and the Parade with the athletes was a sight to behold as thousands of people cheered on the teams. I was lucky enough to see to start of the Parade which was conveniently located near the PotterReesDolan office and, along with the rest of the crowd, was snapping away trying to capture photos of the athletes with their medals. I also took a few photos of Jonnie Peacock, the double Paralympic gold T44 100m winner from both London and Rio.
Jonnie is someone who I have huge admiration and respect for, not only due to his amazing ability on the track, but also due to the time and effort he puts into raising awareness for Meningitis Now.
Jonnie has a personal link to the charity as it was as a result of meningitis as a child which lead to his lower leg amputation and I know he is also an inspiration to a number of our clients who have suffered amputations as he shows that disability is no barrier to achieving your dreams and being the best in the world.
